Meet Morgan & Megan

Bee Like Jesus Books co-founders Morgan Williams and Megan Koch working together with a laptop and children’s books in a colorful creative studio.

Two Moms. Different Gifts. One God Story.

We’re Morgan Williams and Megan Koch, the author and illustrator behind Bee Like Jesus Books.

We’re also two moms who happened to move onto the same circle in Gretna, Nebraska. What looked like a simple neighborhood friendship became something neither of us could have created alone.

Morgan had carried a dream of writing a children’s book for years. There was just one problem. She couldn’t draw.

Megan had spent nearly two decades as a stay at home mom and had never imagined herself illustrating a book. But she had a gift for creating beautiful things with her hands.

After Morgan spotted a handmade paper banner Megan had created, an idea began to take shape.

What if the book Morgan had been praying about was meant to be brought to life through Megan’s paper art?

Megan’s first answer was actually no.

She didn’t feel equipped.

Then God brought back a memory from her childhood. A teacher had once told her:

“Someday, you’re going to illustrate a children’s book.”

She couldn’t shake the feeling that maybe this was God asking her to step outside her comfort zone and trust Him with the rest.

The next morning, Megan said yes.

And Bee Like Jesus Books began.

The more we look back on our story, the more we see a truth woven throughout Scripture.

God has always used ordinary people who didn’t feel equipped for what He was asking them to do.

Moses questioned whether he could speak. Abraham was asked to trust God without knowing exactly where He was leading. David was an unlikely choice for a king. The disciples were ordinary people called to do extraordinary things.

Their stories remind us that God doesn’t always call the person who feels the most qualified. He calls people who are willing to trust Him.

That truth has become part of our story too.

Two moms. Two very different gifts. One idea neither of us could have brought to life alone.

We simply said yes and trusted God with what came next.

And now, it’s a truth we love sharing with children too:

God gave you gifts for a reason. You don’t have to have it all figured out. You just have to be willing to let Him use them.

And when you do, you might look back and realize there’s no other way to explain how all the pieces came together.

We call that a God thing.

Bee Like Jesus Books is ours.
