Library Visits
Invite Morgan & Megan to Your Library
We love libraries.
Books have a beautiful way of bringing families together, sparking creativity, and helping children discover stories they might carry with them for years.
As a local author and illustrator team, we love partnering with public libraries for story times, author events, summer reading programs, and opportunities to introduce children to the creative process behind making a book.
A Story Built From Paper
One of the most unique parts of a Bee Like Jesus Books visit is showing children how our illustrations are made.
Our artwork does not begin on a computer.
It begins with paper.
Megan creates custom patterns, cuts individual pieces, and layers different colors, papers, and textures by hand. The completed scenes are then professionally photographed and transformed into the pages of our books.
During library visits, children can see examples of the original artwork and learn how an idea can grow from a simple piece of paper into a published children’s book.
An Experience Designed for Your Library
We understand that every public library has its own programming guidelines.
We are happy to work with your library to create an experience that fits those guidelines while giving children a fun and meaningful opportunity to meet a local author and illustrator.
Depending on your program, visits may include story time selections, a look at the bookmaking and illustration process, an age appropriate craft, a question and answer session, or a meet the author and illustrator opportunity.
For older children, we can also talk about writing, creativity, publishing, and how ideas become books.
